Administrative Assistant to the Vice President & Dean for Academic Affairs
Purpose of Position: Performs advanced administrative assistant duties in support of Academic Affairs division.
Classification: Administrative Assistant
Education: High School Graduate with some college preferred.
Supervision Received: General Supervision.
Supervision Exercised: May coordinate activities of student assistants
Work Schedule: Twelve months full time with occasional evenings & weekends as required.
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Example of Duties: Performs full range of secretarial duties. Maintains calendar of events for supervisor including setting appointments and coordinating meetings. Responsible for organizing significant campus events. Establishes and maintains filing and record keeping system for division records. Performs research and analysis in support of vice president. Performs specialized administrative tasks related to operation of department and division, including governmental report preparation Monitors divisional budget. (Not necessarily a complete list of all duties).
Qualifications: Broad knowledge and experience in the use of computers for word processing, graphic layout and spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Access & Internet). Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in person and over the telephone. Ability to plan and organize tasks according to periodic schedules.
Physical Requirements: Within normal bounds of an office environment.
