Here is just a glimpse of what Adrian College has in store.
Our 132 acre textbook is always evolving- both in and out of the classroom. The best of both worlds, we have the amenities of the big schools with that personalized approach to your education.
Adrian College and ProMedica have executed a Letter-of-Intent and Professional Services Agreement to build and operate a health and medical clinic on the campus of Adrian College. The facility will be located between the Arrington Ice Arena and Docking Stadium off Charles Street. This addition of a medical clinic will offer outstanding health care options directly on campus. In addition, students pursuing careers in health care will have an expanded opportunity for enhanced learning with ProMedica’s physicians.
Baby Bulldog Center
The Baby Bulldog Center will accommodate up to 12 children, aged newborn to three years, and will serve as a laboratory classroom for Adrian College teacher education students, under the supervision of Mary Bruggenwirth, the Center’s director and lead teacher. The Baby Bulldog Center is located on the first floor of Valade Hall, at the corner of Madison and Williams streets, and is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. year-round, excluding holidays.
Cargo Hall Renovations
Located on the corner of Williams Street and Charles Street will be used for upperclassman housing. Cargo Hall went under renovations during the 2015-2016 academic year. Cargo Hall boasts carpeted rooms and a TV and recreation room in the basement. Cargo is a co-ed hall.
Walden West Property
Adrian College is pleased to announce the gift of the Walden West property. Walden West is a beautiful and unique 119-acre property in Lenawee County that is now protected and will serve as a “living classroom” for Adrian College. The property, which features rare fen habitats, was owned by Ann Arbor residents Jim and Mary White. The White’s donated a conservation easement, which permanently protects the land in a natural state, to Legacy Land and Raisin Valley Land Trust. After establishing the conservation easement, the Whites donated the land to Adrian College for use in their educational programming.
Campus Clock Tower
The Campus Clock Tower was a gift from the Adrian College Class of 2014. The clock is located between Peelle Hall and the Shipman Library.
Weight Room and Fitness Center
Adrian College is focused on providing its students with top-notch facilities that don’t just feed the mind and spirit - but also the body. Extending off of the south side of the existing Merillat Sport & Fitness Center is a brand new 20,000 square foot addition that more appropriately suits needs of our growing campus.
Peelle and Jones Hall Renovations
The renovations of Peelle and Jones Halls started in April 2013. The 16,000 square foot addition adds three chemistry and three biology labs, as well as renovations to the lobby. The renovations open up exciting new opportunities for our students to research in state-of-the-art classrooms and labs.
The Plastinate Labs were recently added to Adrian College's list of unique learning opportunities for our students. Adrian College is the 6th institution in the world (and the 2nd in the United States) to use plastinate specimens for teaching. Plastinates are used along with human cadavers to give students a comprehensive education and hands-on experience for human anatomy.
Cascade Circle provides an aesthetically pleasing gateway into the heart of campus. The new drive allows easy access to the Adrian Tobias center, which hosts events such as weddings, banquets, galas, dances, and expos.
Terrace at Caine Student Center
The new Terrace outside of Caine Student Center offers a unique and convenient place to relax, study, visit with friends, and even have class. Featuring all the comforts of a relaxing atmosphere including music, a weatherproof television, several fireplaces and a fire-water feature, the Terrace offers a centralized location to experience all that AC has to offer!
Downs Hall Renovations
Thanks to Sage Foundation, Adrian College has enhanced both the interior as well as the exterior of our oldest, and perhaps most historic, building on campus. Renovations include better accessibility (elevator installation, side entrance doors with ramps and walks); new windows; roof replacement; a complete transformation to the first floor lobby; cleaning the masonry; and updating area rugs and light fixtures throughout the building to maintain the classic and historic feel of the building. These renovations bring a new feel to a legendary building at the heart of Adrian College's historical roots.
Indoor Baseball & Softball Practice Facility
The new indoor practice facility features five batting cages, pitching area and the ability for infield and outfield practice. The heated facility, suitable for year-round use, is a 80’ x 120’ manufactured steel building, boasting a turf floor and optimum location as it sits situated between the baseball and softball fields.
