The business of education.
Through Adrian College’s various paths within the accounting and business undergraduate program let students choose their own path. Whether you are interested in marketing or management, business or sports, Adrian College’s programs are sure to teach you the essentials.

One path students can select to learn about with their studies at the College is advertising. This form of mass communication is used to persuade customers and plays a major part in every day life. Adrian College has a chapter within the American Advertising Federation, providing college students the opportunity to work on an advertising campaign. The program allows the group to present their advertising strategy in front of marketing executives in a competition against other universities and colleges. In 2013, students developed a campaign for Glidden paint—at the Ribbons of Excellence program, the group presented their advertising campaign: American Advertising Federation Adrian College Chapter—Glidden Gets You Going.

Skills are a key aspect to every job, particularly soft skills such as listening well, handling conflict, working in teams, etc. Soft skills and their ability to increase an individuals marketability were studied in Abbey Davis’ and Chloe Stiriz’s 2013 Ribbons of Excellence presentation. Women at the Catherine Cobb Center completed a program to further develop their soft skills, and Davis and Stiriz after determined the effect job preparation programs, such as the Pursuit Program, have on women in the workplace. The presentation, associated with the ribbon Caring for Humanity and the World, covered the importance of soft skills and an in-depth review of the results of the research.
