Interested in art history?
If you become an art history minor you will study Contemporary and Modern art, Western art and architecture, African and African American art, women’s art, and gay and lesbian art history. The art history minor complements majors in art, interior design, music, theater, international business, modern languages and cultures, and English and can lead to careers in historic preservation, museum work, gallery work, or graduate studies.
Students interested in art history have also obtained internship opportunities in galleries and museums, from the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C. to the Toledo Museum of Art. Study abroad opportunities in art history are also available; art history students have studied in Spain, Wales, Mexico, Italy, England, Germany, and Japan studying art and architecture.
