Empty Bowls: Your Chance to Support the Hungry in Lenawee
The Adrian College Art and Design Department in conjunction with Evans Street Station in Tecumseh and Sauce in Adrian will sponsor two Empty Bowls events in January and February to benefit the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen.
With the need greater than 2010 when Empty Bowls sold over 500 bowls and raised $12,340.00, the goal is to eclipse that mark.
Adrian College art students, teaching assistants, and staff, Community Clay students and the Adrian College Art Rocks Kids (ARK) youth art program have all been making bowls with a goal of 700 bowls to be offered for a donation of $10-$30. The handmade bowls can be purchased on site at the events, filled with soup for lunch and later taken home. The first event will be held at Evans Street Station, 110 S Evans, Tecumseh on Wednesday January 29, 2014 from 11:00am - 2:00pm, and the second will be hosted by Sauce, 149 N Main, Adrian on Wednesday February 12, 2014 from 11:00am - 2:00pm, with soup graciously donated by both restaurants.
