5 Year Combined BS/MS in Exercise Science & Athletic Training
The combined B.S. in Exercise Science / Pre-Athletic Training & M.S. in Athletic Training degree programs combine requirements from the undergraduate exercise science major and graduate athletic training major for the completion of two degrees in five years.
Years one and two comprise the Candidacy Phase, and then students apply to be retained in the Professional Phase. During the Professional Phase (typically years 3-5), students will complete the combined degree program concurrently, that is, by completing the degree requirements for the bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the same time. By the end of the fourth year of study, students will have earned a B.S. in Exercise Science / Pre-Athletic Training and an M.S in Athletic Training after year five.
Students interested in transferring into the athletic training program (from another major or an outside institution) must do so as an undergraduate student PRIOR to the professional phase. Depending on transfer credits, the minimum number of years to complete the BS and MS degrees is three years.
