Dr. Tina Claiborne, PhD, AT, ATC, CSCS

Dr. Tina Claiborne came to Adrian College as the program director of athletic training in Fall 2007. She earned her BS degree in Athletic Training at Ithaca College, and her MS and PhD degrees in clinical kinesiology and biomechanics from The University of Toledo. Prior to coming to Adrian, Tina was the athletic training education program director at the University of Southern Maine. Before becoming an educator, Dr. Claiborne accumulated over eight years as a clinical athletic trainer in private and public high schools, as well as in the orthopedic sports rehabilitation setting. Tina is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist. (see more)
Heather Schuyler, MA, AT, ATC, MT

Heather Schuyler came to Adrian College as associate professor in Athletic Training in Fall 2008. She earned her BS degree in Athletic Training at Eastern Michigan University, and her MA degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Florida. Prior to coming to Adrian, Heather was an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Tampa where she also taught classes in athletic training. Heather is also a certified massage therapist.

Victor Liberi came to Adrian College as associate professor in Athletic Training in Fall 2009. He earned his MS degree in Biomechanics at University of Delaware, Newark. Victor specializes in clinical education, rehab and conditioning of the overhand athlete, biomechanics of soccer heading, airway access in helmeted athletes and male pelvic pain. (see more)
Jamie Fetter, AT, MS, ATC
Head Athletic Trainer
Jamie Fetter began as the head athletic trainer at Adrian in 2004. Before coming to Adrian College, Jamie spent seven years at Tiffin University as the head athletic trainer, overseeing all aspects of the athletic training department. He also taught classes at the University. Jamie earned his master’s degree from Ohio University in 1997 and his bachelor’s degree from Defiance College in 1996. Jamie and his wife Stephanie reside in Adrian and have three children - Tyson, Brook and Trenton.

Dawn Marsh has been the Director of Student Health Services since August 2009. She is a registered nurse and attended Northwest State.
Meg Sharp, MS, AT, ATC, CSCS
Meg Sharp is an assistant athletic trainer working primarily with women’s soccer, women’s ice hockey and softball. Prior to joining Adrian College, she worked as an assistant athletic trainer at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Her primary responsibilities were women’s volleyball and women’s tennis.
Meg attended Grand Valley State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. She continued on to graduate school at Middle Tennessee State University, where she received her Master of Science in Exercise Science.
Dr. J. Michael Maxwell
Team Physician / Medical Director of Athletic Training
Dr. J. Michael Maxwell is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with a practice in Adrian. He serves patients in Adrian and surrounding communities. He opened his practice in Adrian in 1987. Dr. Maxwell did his undergraduate work at Tulane University and received his M.D. from the University of Arkansas. He did his orthopedic residency at the University of Texas. His practice includes sports medicine, treating diabetic and peripheral neuropathy and other peripheral nerve disorders; rotator cuff tears, shoulder and knee injuries and arthroscopic surgeries; joint replacements; treating carpal tunnel syndrome. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Practice Management Committee and is the team physician for Adrian College.
Dr. Kevin Darr
Dr. Kevin Darr earned his PhD from the University of Wisconsin. He specializes in skeletal muscle physiology and exercise.
Kathy Conway is a member of the Michigan Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD); the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD); the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the International Dance Exercise Association(IDEA).
Stacey Robinson, EMT-P/IC
EMS Instructor Stacy Robinson is a Captain/Paramedic with the Charter Township of Madison’s Fire Department. Captain Robinson is a certified Firefighter II and Fire Officer III in the State of Michigan and is the EMS Education Course Coordinator of the Madison Charter Township Fire Departments EMS Education Division. Captain Robinson holds EMS certifications and licenses as a Paramedic in Michigan and Ohio, National certification as a Critical Care Paramedic, State of Michigan EMS Instructor Coordinator, among other specialty course instructor level certifications in pediatric and adult EMS Education. Captain Robinson has obtained his bachelor’s degree, B.S. in Biology, from Grand Valley State University and a Masters degree, MPA with general concentration in Emergency Services Management, from Columbia Southern University. Captain Robinson has over 18 years of fire and EMS service experience. He has been a EMS Education Coordinator for numerous past programs and has held a past position as EMS education instructors with Jackson College. Captain Robinson has extensive practical real life experiences from his time with the Charter Township of Madison and 12 years as a Flight Paramedic with St. Vincent’s Life Flight of Toledo. The experiences of Captain Robinson, 15 years of classroom and field education experience provides a foundation of knowledge that allows for sound EMS educational instruction and guidance of the staff of educators at the Charter Township of Madison Fire Departments.
Jim Nicknair, MS, AT, ATC
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Jim Nicknair is an assistant athletic trainer at Adrian College. The Glenburn, ME native earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from The University of Southern Maine in 2011 and his master’s degree in athletic training from Ohio University in 2013. While at Ohio University, Jim was a graduate assistant working as the head athletic trainer at Belpre High School in Belpre, OH for two years. Jim’s sport assignments include women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s ice hockey and baseball.
Anthony Rossi, MS, MT, ATC, CSCS, NREMT
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Anthony Rossi earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Adrian College in 2014 and then earned his Master of Science in Athletic Training the following year. Anthony joined the Athletic Training Staff in 2015 and is working primarily with Football, Men’s and Women’s Wrestling and Men’s Lacrosse. Anthony is originally from Milford, MI and played ACHA Hockey for Adrian from 2010-2014. Anthony is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician.
Dr. Monica McCullough
Dr. Monica McCullough came to Adrian College as an assistant professor in exercise science in Fall 2013. Dr. McCullough earned her BS and PhD degrees in Biological Sciences from Western Michigan University. Her area of research interest is to determine how neurotropic factors are regulated within the neuromuscular system.
