4 hours of a non-Physics laboratory course and 3 hours of MATH courses numbered 300 and above OR 7 hours in either BIOL, CHEM or GEOL, including 3 hours numbered 300 or above. The CHEM 105/115 and 117 courses do not count towards this cognate elective.

# Minor and Associate Program Requirements

The Associate of Arts degree in physics requires a minimum of 12 semester hours in the department, including Physics 205, 206, 209 and 210, and 8 semester hours of mathematics including MATH 135 and 205. A student working towards a minor in physics will complete at least 20 semester hours in the department, including PHYS 205, 206, 209, 210, 370, and 9 hours of electives numbered 300 and above.
