Each fall the Adrian College chapter of national dramatic honorary society, Theta Alpha Phi, presents the world premieres of plays written by Adrian College students. This year’s production is:
Macbeth II

This comedy focuses on the hilarious complications that ensue when two theatre companies—one American, one British— arrive at the same theatre at the same time expecting to perform their own respective productions of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
This production will play in the Downs Hall Theatre. Admission is $5.00.

The Drowsy Chaperone

A rare combination of unprecedented originality and blinding talent, The Drowsy Chaperone boldly addresses a great unspoken desire in all of our hearts: to be entertained. If you’ve ever sat in a dark theatre and thought, “Dear Lord in heaven please let it be good,” this is the show for you! It all begins when a die-hard musical-theater fan plays his favorite cast album on his turntable, and the musical literally bursts to life in his living room, telling the rambunctious tale of a brazen Broadway starlet trying to find, and keep, her true love.

Doubt, a Parable

Doubt is set in a Catholic school in New York in the 1960s. In this brilliant and powerful drama, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students.

Diana of Dobson’s

Diana is an under-paid worker in an Edwardian department store in Clapham and, when she inherits £300 unexpectedly, she spends it on a holiday at a holiday resort in Switzerland. Pretending to be a wealthy widow, she finds herself pursued by an impecunious ex-guardsman and his predatory aunt.

Anatomy of Gray

When June’s father dies, she prays for a healer to come to the small town of Gray, so that no one will ever suffer again; the next thing she knows, there’s a tornado, and a man in a balloon blows into town claiming to be a doctor. At first, the new doctor cures anything and everything, but soon the town’s preacher takes ill with a mysterious plague. And then the plague begins to spread. Set in Indiana during the late 1800’s, deals with death, loss, love, and healing in a unique coming of age story.
