Lambda Pi Eta (chapter since 2015)
Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the honor society for the Department of Communication
Arts and Sciences.
Members are communication majors or minors with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA
and have completed 60 credit hours total towards graduation and 12 credit
hours within the major.
LPH is the National Communication Association’s official honor society at four-year colleges and universities. There are more than 500 active chapters at four-year colleges and universities nationwide, and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS).
LPH represents what Aristotle described in Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion: logos (Lambda), meaning logic; pathos (Pi), relating to emotion; and ethos (Eta), defined as character credibility and ethics.
