To honor people who have put into practice such planned giving concepts as those discussed on these pages, Adrian College has established the John Dawson Society. Donors who make financial or estate gifts of any size through wills, trusts and other planned gifts are recognized for their dedication to our mission.
As a member of the John Dawson Society, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are continuing our tradition, helping to ensure the future strength of our college through your generous support. With your permission, your name will be included in a special recognition in the President’s Report, and you will receive regular updates about life at Adrian College.
If you have already named Adrian College as a beneficiary of a planned gift, we welcome you as a John Dawson Society member. By informing us of your gift, you assist us with future planning and provide us the opportunity to give you appropriate recognition. If you would like more information about how you can become a member in a manner that benefits you, your heirs and us, call our Office of Institutional Advancement.
The John Dawson Society (formerly Founders’ Society) is named after the late John Harper Dawson ‘38, president of Adrian College from 1955 to 1978. Dr. Dawson will be long remembered for the leadership he provided as the Adrian College campus grew during the late 1950s and throughout the 1960s. His legacy was detailed in the spring 2002 issue of Contact. Another lasting contribution that Dr. Dawson made during his lifetime was the gift of a life insurance policy naming Adrian College as the primary beneficiary. It is this type of gift that the John Dawson Society is intended to recognize.
