Jennifer Eisinger, ‘14
So how does an Adrian College education impact your life? Take note from Jennifer Eisinger, who just accepted a full ride (& stipend!) at UNC-Chapel Hill in microbiology to pursue her PhD.
“I am absolutely thrilled to have this opportunity. I am looking forward to what the next few years have in store for me.”
Michael Miller, ‘11
Major: Communication: Media Arts
Current Job: Digital Strategist, moddern marketing / Graduate Student, New York University (School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Master of Science in Integrated Marking)
It’s all about the personal touch at Adrian. This was evident when Mike was sitting on the bench in the ice rink, chatting about hockey with some random guy—only to find out later that it was the President of the College. The direction interaction with faculty, staff and other members of the administration has not only given him a solid foundation in a variety of subjects, but has also set him up for post-grad success.
The moment I stepped foot on campus, I could feel change happening. With the four years of college being the years where change in your life is supposed to happen, it was very comforting knowing that progress was something I could see and touch everyday, not just a theory.
Caryn Sieler, ‘99
Major: Interior Design
Minors: Business, Music
Current Job: Owner / Director, Lenawee’s Heart & Soul
It would be safe to say it was love at first sight between Caryn and Adrian College. From the minute she came across a brochure for the College, to when she met the head of the interior design department, everything pointed to the excellent education and experiences she would have at the College. Her three unique focuses—interior design, business and music—now all blend together in her ownership and directorship of a local children’s art and music studio.
My education went much deeper than what could be found in textbooks ... I am so grateful for the many wonderful professors I had during my time at AC. They were a large part of the personal growth and sense of self I developed during my college years.
Ann Smart, ‘01
Major: Health, Physical Education and Recreation K-12
Minor: Elementary Education
Current Job: Instructional Coach, Adrian Public Schools / Adjunct Professor (Critical Reading and Thinking), Adrian College
Two things helped the Adrian-native to choose AC: her mother (Mary Betzoldt) was an alumna, and she wanted a small, liberal arts college experience. Post-graduation, Ann still spends a lot of time on campus and remains connected with many of the people she met at AC. Whether it’s watching a hockey game at Arrington Ice arena or enjoying an evening in the Robinson Planetarium, Adrian College has become a spot for the entire family.
Adrian College provided me with the education and connections I needed to get a start in my teaching career. The B.A. degree I earned at AC made me a balanced, and open-minded learner.
Jay Yockey, ‘11
Major: Secondary Social Studies Education
Current Job:Social Studies Teacher / Varsity Cross Country Coach / Track & Field Coach, Britton Deerfield
If the small atmosphere and the attention to detail from faculty and staff wasn’t enough—it was that immediately, AC proved that they cared and that as a student, you mattered. Because of the education he received at Adrian, Jay is able to give back to his students and athletes the way that Adrian had. Since graduation, Jay has been named “Coach of the Year” for cross country two years in a row.
[My professors, running coach and vocal coach] were able to find out what makes me tick—my strengths and weaknesses—and challenge me to become a lifelong learner. They were always encouraging me and taught me more about life than I ever could have expected.
