    Food and Drink Policy

     

    Revised Policy (7/14)

    • It is the policy of the library to maintain an environment appropriate for the protection of library materials, equipment, and furnishings and conducive to study.

    • Food is allowed. Messy, noisy or strong-smelling foods are not permitted.

    • Drinks in spill-resistant containers are allowed. Examples include travel mugs, sports bottles, beverages in capped, plastic bottles, and/or covered beverages.

    • Clean up any spills right away—if additional assistance is needed, contact library staff at any service desk.

    • Properly dispose of all food, trash and recycling.

    • The library staff reserves the right to request that library users dispose of items, refrain from eating, or leave the library if disturbing others or to protect library materials, furnishings, and equipment.

    • The library reserves the right to suspend this policy for special library events and exhibits

    • Neither food nor drinks are permitted in the College Archives in order to preserve and protect rare and unique material.
