ADRIAN, MI – Adrian College announces their 2013 Homecoming activities. The annual event is the College’s largest gathering of alumni and friends, welcoming new and familiar faces to campus on September 20-22, 2013.
Kick off of the weekend begins on Friday, September 20, with the Athletic Walk of Fame at 5:15 p.m. Join the campus community as they congratulate the 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. At 7:00 p.m., the whole family can join in the fun at the Robinson Planetarium when they present “Cosmic Colors,” a full dome planetarium show that answers insightful questions about cosmic light. Admission to this event is free. Then, join friends and fellow Bulldogs for a “Bulldog Skate” in Arrington Ice Arena from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. Skate rental is $2.00 with free admission.
On Saturday, September 21, the annual Homecoming events officially commence with the 5K Bulldog Run and Kid’s ¼ Mile Fun Run at 9:00 a.m.
Learn to skate with the AC synchro team from 9:30 -11:00 a.m. or see the Lady Bulldogs take on Hope College in the women’s volleyball match up beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Merillat.
Tailgating for reserved parking guests will take place in the Merillat parking lot from 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. with food vendors and other activities open to the public. The traditional Kids Korner, which includes a petting zoo and train rides, will be operating from11:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. offering entertainment for all ages of children.
Other can’t miss events include the annual Homecoming Parade encircling campus that begins at 1:30 p.m. and the ACHA D1 Men’s Hockey game versus U of M Dearborn at 3:00 p.m. The ACHA D1 Women’s Hockey team competes at 7:00 p.m. versus Miami University of Ohio.
The 2012 MIAA Champion Bulldogs take to the field in full black and gold glory as they take on the Concordia University (Chicago) Cougars with kick off at 5:00 p.m. at the stadium. Gates open at 4:00 p.m.; general admission is $5; seniors over 60 and children under 10 $3. For reserved seats or season tickets, contact Kristina Schweikert at 517-265-5161 ext. 3998 or 5044.
After the game, continue the Homecoming celebration as Mid Lyfe Crysis, featuring local musicians, will provide live music.
On Sunday, September 22, take part in the 11:00 a.m. worship service, hosted by AC’s Chaplain Christopher Momany with special guest speaker alumna HaLana Thompson ’08. Join the community in Herrick Chapel for a traditional service also featuring the AC Women’s Ensemble led by Dr. Thomas Hodgman.
The Caine Student Center will feature campus amenities including Bulldog Beanery, The Grille @ AC & Zebi by Sodexo, and the 110 Madison Ave. salon with special Homecoming hours. Arrington Bookstore will also offer Saturday hours to purchase your Bulldog black and gold spirit gear.
This year, don’t miss the opportunity to assist the campus community and Team Adrian to support several local organizations. Visit the tent and the Bianco Bulldog Bus in the Merillat parking lot on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to make a difference for the Fill That Bulldog Bus project.
