ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College is pleased to announce the appointment of alumnus Troy Schmidli to the position of Dean of Students. Schmidli will assume his new role on March 19, 2012.
Schmidli comes to Adrian College from Senior Flexonics Senior Operations Inc. in Bartlett, Ill. where he was employed as a Senior Human Resources Generalist. There he served as a strategic business partner for operations departments, provided training to personnel, assisted in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and negotiated during their collective bargaining agreement. Schmidli has worked in the Human Resources field for the last 10 years with Chrysler, Honeywell, with increased roles of responsibility in such fields as Employee Relations, Labor Relations, and Training and Development.
In his position at Adrian, he will focus initially on student affairs and activities extending student learning into a fully integrated educational experience.
“We are very happy to include Troy Schmidli in the leadership team at Adrian College,” said President Jeffrey R. Docking. “As an alumnus, Troy is dedicated to continuing the wonderful momentum that has defined the past few years at this institution.”
Originally from Pinckney, Mich., Schmidli attended Pinckney High School prior to his collegiate studies. He attended Adrian College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication in 2002 and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Management in 2008 from Webster University (St. Louis, MO). While a student at Adrian, Schmidli became familiar with several levels of Student Life including: Student Government, Residence Life (Resident Assistant and Residence Hall Director), Greek Life and Athletics.
“I am very excited to bring Troy back to Adrian College to be a part of the leadership team here,” said Frank Hribar, Vice President for Enrollment. “Troy brings a very rich sense for the Adrian College heritage, and affords us a wealth of executive experience that will add a new dimension to our Student Life offerings.”
Schmidli looks forward to joining the staff at Adrian College. A strong advocate for an education at a small, private, Liberal Arts College, he is passionate about the experiences provided by the College.
“I look forward to working with Dr. Docking, and the staff, to continue the positive momentum at Adrian College,” said Schmidli. “As an alumnus, it is great to see all of the energy and excitement on campus. I am excited to join the team.”
