ADRIAN, Mich – Adrian College announced the hiring of a new Director of Campus Safety with the addition of Wade Beitelschies. Beitelschies is responsible for the protection of all members of the campus community and surrounding property. He will oversee the selection, training and supervision of all safety personnel, manage vehicular traffic and parking and coordinate event management and security.
“We are excited to welcome Wade to the Adrian College Community,” said Troy Schmidli, Dean of Students. “His wealth of knowledge and experience are commendable, and I am certain he will bring great leadership to the department.
Beitelschies previously lead security operations for Kelsey Museum of Archaeology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He has over twelve years of experience in Law Enforcement, eight years spent with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in a number of assignments such as Road Patrol, S.W.A.T. and as a School Liaison Deputy.
He also possesses seven years’ experience in the Napoleon school district as a school administrator. Beitelschies oversaw student interventions for discipline, as well administering the district emergency management plan, event supervision while acting as the liaison to public safety agencies. Through effective grant management, he conducted campus vulnerability and threat assessments for the district of Napoleon .In addition; he was instrumental in the implementation of the S.A.V.E. (School Active Violence Event) program for Napoleon Community Schools.

Beitelschies holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Eastern Michigan University. He has three sons, all of which have attended Adrian College.
