ADRIAN, Mich. – Arrington Ice Arena at Adrian College will host a different kind of sport during the off-season as artificial turf by Turfix is installed in the ice rink. The College announced at its annual State of the College address that the installation of a custom designed synthetic grass product would occur in early April. Use of the facilities is expected to be available by Wednesday, April 11. This unique addition offers facility use for purposes outside of ice-skating from April through late June.
Thanks, in part to a generous donor contribution, the installation of artificial grass will expand the opportunities for Adrian College students, staff and the local community to utilize Arrington Ice Arena for activities including: indoor soccer, indoor lacrosse, indoor field hockey, baseball/softball fielding practice, aerobic fitness training and other indoor activities that might be prohibitive due inclement weather, or lack of outdoor space.
