ADRIAN, Mich – This fall Adrian College will welcome over 650 new students to campus, marking another defining moment in its history. This record enrollment is an unprecedented accomplishment, continuing the recruitment momentum that began in 2006.
“Our large freshmen class is another indication of the progress Adrian College has experienced in recent years,” said Erin VanDerworp, Director for Admissions. “When students arrive on campus they are amazed by its inviting appearance, the array of activities, new housing options, and outstanding faculty mentors that greet them.”
The class is distinguishable by more than simply its number. On the academic front, it boasts the largest number of freshmen with an ACT composite score of 25 or higher. It also claims the College’s largest number of out-of-state students while drawing a significant number with strong leadership backgrounds. The incoming class is also the College’s most diverse – comprised of the highest percentage of minorities compared to any other class in its history.
“A great deal of the praise for enrolling this phenomenal class is credited to the Admissions and Athletic staff who, together, shoulder the bulk of the recruiting responsibilities,” said Frank Hribar, Vice President for Enrollment at Adrian College. “The staff has placed a stronger emphasis on visit amenities and expanded offerings to promote campus visits and increase awareness of the institution.”
Welcome Week festivities will kick off Sunday, August 19 as new students begin to move in on campus. Incoming freshman will take a two-day tour of Chicago as part of their first-week experience. Classes begin on August 27.
