Adrian College Men’s Hockey Recognized by Adrian Mayor

Coach Krug and team recognized for their accomplishments on and off the ice.

ADRIAN, Mich (April 6, 2015) - The Adrian College men’s hockey team received a formal proclamation from the City of Adrian. Mayor Jim Berryman presented coach Adam Krug and the team with the honor in the city council chambers on April 6, 2015.

Mayor Berryman, spoke about the achievements of the program, recognizing the team as a source of pride for both the College and the community.

The Bulldogs finished the season with a 24-4-3 record, making it the eighth straight season with 20 or more wins. The proclamation went on to recognize the Harris Cup Champions and Division III Semifinalists as well as Coach Krug for his nod as the NCHA Coach of the Year.

WHEREAS, the Adrian College Hockey team has several accomplishments for the 2014-15 season to be proud; and

WHEREAS, the team finished out the season 2014-15 NCHA Peters Cup Regular Season Champions, 2015 NCHA Harris Cup Playoff Champions, 2015 NCAA Division III Semifinalists, and a 24-4-3 overall record, which is their 8th straight 20-win season; and

WHEREAS, Coach Adam Krug was named NCHA Coach of the Year, and was finalist for National Coach of the Year; and

WHEREAS, individual achievements include those of freshman Kyle Brothers, who was named All-NCHA at forward, All-Freshmen Team and First Team West All-American, senior Josh Ranalli who was named All-NCHA at forward and First Team West All-American, senior Ryan Gieseler, who was named All-NCHA at defense and Second Team West All-American, making three All-American selections which is the most in one year for Adrian College; and

WHEREAS, Adrian is also the only school to have three players ranked in the top 10 nationally this scoring season – Kyle Brothers ranked 4th with 24 goals and 25 assists, Matthew Thompson ranked 6th with 23 goals and 20 assists, and Josh Ranalli ranked 8th with 17 goals and 28 assists; and

WHEREAS, the team, as well as Adrian College is a point of pride for the citizens of Adrian.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jim Berryman, Mayor of the City of Adrian, MI, do hereby congratulate the Adrian College Hockey team on their great accomplishments.
