ADRIAN, Mich – For the fourth night in a row, Dr. Stephanie Jass has been crowned the champion of trivia show Jeopardy! Her four-day total is an astounding $90,170. It was the first opportunity for Jass to give a shout-out to her Adrian College roots with her acknowledgement that she taught at the small, liberal arts school in Michigan.
Jass also acknowledged her intent to purchase a Chevrolet Volt with part of her winnings
Jass shared with her AC colleagues that this was the episode where she began to feel like she was a bit of a star, noting a sighting of Seth Rogen in the cafeteria at lunch prior to the competition.
But on set she remained cool and confident, even amidst being challenged in her most competitive game to date. The three-time Jeopardy Champion would stay neck and neck with her competitors through the first round, but would slide ahead in the second round as she had the previous three nights. For the first time, however, Jass entered Final Jeopardy facing potential defeat as contestant Hilary Hultman-Lee was within range of a win pending a big wager.
Jass would prevail with a conservative wager and a four-day winning total of $90,170, despite missing the final answer.
The Adrian College community held a student viewing party in Caine Student Center to root for their “hometown hero” during her quest for a fourth consecutive championship. The Adrian College history professor will advance to another round of trivia on Friday, October 12 to attempt to close the week out with a win.
