ADRIAN, Mich – Adrian College history professor Dr. Stephanie Jass is scheduled to appear as a contestant on Jeopardy! Monday, October 8 at 7:30 P.M. on NBC (check local programming for details.)
Jeopardy contestants are selected through a multi-step process that begins with a 50 question online test. Jass completed this first portion in March 2012. She was then invited to Toledo, Ohio for a second, in-person test and a game of Jeopardy! as an audition for producers. Part of the first group to audition, Dr. Jass seized the opportunity to showcase her energy and personality, qualities that the producers said were important in choosing contestants.
Following the conclusion of the full audition, potential contestants are notified that they will be contacted within the next 18 months if they are selected to appear on Jeopardy!. Dr. Jass was contacted on June 13 to tape her segment August 1 on the Sony Pictures lot in Los Angeles.
Jeopardy! is a popular quiz show featuring trivia in a wide variety of topics, including: history, language, literature, the arts, the sciences, popular culture, geography and wordplay. It requires all contestants, who are presented with clues in the form of answers, to phrase their responses in question form.
