Adrian College to Host Hispanic Leadership Event

Event scheduled for June 25-28 at the College.

ADRIAN, Mich (Mar. 13, 2014) – The Hispanic Youth Leadership Academy (HYLA) has put a call out to youth in the region to register a leadership event scheduled June 25-28 at Adrian College.

The HYLA serves Hispanic United Methodist youth and young adults. Its main purpose is to identify, recruit and facilitate the leadership development processes of high school and college students while taking into consideration the context and particularities of Hispanic youth and young adults in the context of the United States. HYLA is a three-year program that will focus on different topics each year.

Students grade eight to twelve are eligible to participate in the program.

Youth will need to complete the registration form, write a short essay, get a recommendation letter from someone in their congregation and get a sponsor to help them with the $50 registration fee. Participants will be selected to attend through a selection process. Registration forms are due April 1, 2014
