ADRIAN, Mich. - The accolades keep coming for freshman Ryan Dorow (South Haven, Mich./South Haven H.S.) as he was announced as the D3Baseball.com National Rookie of the Year and Third Team All-American on Thursday in conjunction with the Division III World Series beginning Friday in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Dorow is one of just two freshman nationally to be named to the All-American list joining Second Team selection Joe Brooks from Rutgers-Camden and is the only freshman at Adrian College to be named an All-American. He becomes the sixth different player at Adrian College to be named All-American and the first since Kyle Strawn was named Honorable Mention in 2012.
Dorow finished the season with a .392 batting average (67-for-171) including 21 doubles, a triple and five home runs. He also drove in 40 runs and posted a .459 on-base percentage. Dorow ranks first in a season at Adrian College in doubles, third in assists (129), tied for third in hits, tied for fifth in total bases (105) and tied for 10th in RBI. On the national level, Dorow ranked 13th in doubles, 34th in total bases and 58th in hits in NCAA Division III.
