“ARK” (Art Rocks Kids) Day Camp Returns to Adrian College

Classes scheduled to begin July 15 - 19 for a week of exploring art with a rainforest theme.

ADRIAN, Mich. – ARK (Art Rocks Kids) Day Camp returns to Adrian College July 15 through 19 for a week of fun, art making and exploring the theme of the rainforest. 

Classes are divided into two age groups, offering half-day sessions for each division. Artists aged six to nine meet from 9:00 a.m. to noon; those aged 10 to 14 meet from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  These classes are taught by area art teachers Annie Howard (Adrian Public Schools) and Jackie Whiteley (Tecumseh Public Schools), with assistance from Adrian College art education students. These day campers use a large tent outdoors as home base and have access to the facilities of the art department.

Artists work in a wide variety of media, including clay, printmaking, paint, jewelry, sculpture and drawing.

Interested parents can enroll through the Adrian College Conferences Department via walk-in or by calling Jamie Hollingshead at 517-265-5161x4382.  Fee to enroll is $70 and includes all materials.  Scholarships are available.
