Adrian College coach appointed as committee member of exclusive committee.

ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College head skating coach, Ashley Carlson, was recently selected to serve on the Collegiate Program Committee for Synchronized Skating. The exclusive opportunity offers a unique chance for Carlson to connect with US Figure Skating. According to usfigureskating.org the Collegiate Program oversees the encouragement, development and promotion of figure skating as a competitive sport in universities and colleges; and supports the teaching and promotion of its inclusion in the curricula of these institutions.

“I am honored to serve as a Coach Member of the Collegiate Program Committee,” said Ashley Carlson, head coach of the College’s Synchronized Skating and Figure Skating teams.  “I am eager to share my experience as a former collegiate athlete and knowledge as a current coach of a varsity collegiate skating program.”

As a Committee Member of the Collegiate Program, Carlson will actively be aware of, promote and participate in collegiate skating in the region. She will also be responsible to respond to ballots and engage in email discussions and dialogue. Carlson will also have the opportunity to attend the Collegiate Program meeting at Governing Council. Her position reports directly to the Collegiate Program Chair.

“I have many ideas pertaining to the growth and promotion of collegiate skating and am [honored] to discuss them with the committee,” Carlson added.
