ADRIAN, Mich (March 18, 14) – The Adrian College Choir will be joining 10 other choirs from around the country to perform as a large ensemble under the direction of Eric Whitacre. The students will rehearse and be conducted in a live performance Sunday, March 30 at 2:00 p.m.at Lincoln Center in New York City.
The Adrian College Choir was awarded the invite to perform after undergoing a rigorous audition process.
“This is an amazing opportunity for our students. [They will] not only work with one of today’s biggest choral music talents, but also to have the opportunity to sing in the world famous Avery Fischer Hall at Lincoln Center (home of the New York Philharmonic),” said Adrian College choral director, Thomas Hodgeman. “We will also have a chance to meet and rehearse/perform with Stephen Schwartz - renowned composer/producer of such Broadway productions as: Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, Pocahontas and the Hunchback of Notre Dame.”
