Dr. Andrea Milner has been named the next Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs of Adrian College. Dr. Milner earned her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction, from the University of Toledo. Her higher education teaching experience spans twelve years and she joined the faculty at Adrian College in 2009. Most recently, she has served as the Dean of Graduate Studies.
During her time at the College, she has served as Director of the Institute for Education leading to a successful accreditation of the teacher education program under the Teacher Education Accreditation Council. Additionally, she created and implemented a unique master’s degree focusing on international baccalaureate curriculum, one of only ten in the nation.
She was also instrumental in bringing the Baby Bulldog Center to fruition and has served in leadership roles with a number of outside organizations including the School Science and Mathematics Association, the School Science and Mathematics Journal, and the Michigan Science Olympiad for Region 9. Dr. Milner is a well-published scholar with over a dozen publications, and twice as many conference presentations.
The relationships that she has fostered with students, faculty, and staff paired with her knowledge of Adrian College policies and procedures make her an excellent choice for this important role. Vice President Milner assumes her new responsibilities on May 1.
