ADRIAN, Mich – (January 9) It’s about to get “a little more country” at Adrian College with announcement of this year’s spring concert line-up. Headliner, Easton Corbin and breakout artists Dylan Scott and Old Dominion are tuning up for a night of country entertainment, Bulldog style.
Easton Corbin offers a traditional sound with a George Strait meets George Jones kind of twist. Corbin exploded onto the scene with two number one singles: “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It.” Now, with his latest release, “Clockwork” and “Baby Be My Love Song” the distinct sound and growth to Corbin’s music is undeniable. It’s wholesome country with a fresh, modern appeal. His latest album, set for release in 2015, is entitled “It’s About to Get Real.” While Corbin’s music has been authentic and cool since its debut on the country music scene, it’s his laid-back delivery and soulful sound that offers a glimpse of the roots of great American country. Vulnerable lyrics and gripping tracks offer a confident yet unique rhythm. The concert promises to play the hits and a few new tracks and his typical, “rowdy good time.”
Country crooner Dylan Scott returned to the music scene with a charming and catchy radio single, “Lay It On Me.” The artist shows a softer side to his previous hits, with a more mature sound that is certain to remain at the top of the charts. The infectious beat and catchy lyrics of Scott’s previous hits including, “Ball Cap” and “Making This Boy Go Crazy” are present in his latest release, offering an energetic appeal for an audience of all ages.
Voted one of Rolling Stones “10 Artists You Need to Know,” Old Dominion (who announced it will go on tour with country sensation, Kenny Chesney) has quickly climbed the charts penning one hit sound after another. This group has a Keith Urban meets Sam Hunt sound with all the necessities of becoming the group played on repeat. The Nashville-based five-piece group, (who has penned songs for Luke Bryan and The Band Perry), is breaking new ground with a country-based blue print of catchy riffs, fun lyrics and a little edginess to their sound. It’s twangy arena-rock at its finest and kick starts the concert with sound unlike any other. Tickets are available by visiting, adrian.edu/springconcert.
General admission is $30 per ticket. Student pricing of $20 per ticket is also offered for all non-Adrian College students (I.D. will be required for admittance into the concert). Doors open at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
