Fifth Annual Women’s Diversity Event Announced

Event to feature lecture by University of Michigan professor, Dr. Maria Cotera

ADRIAN, Mich – The Adrian College Women’s and Gender Studies Program announces their Fifth Annual Women’s Diversity Event themed “Women and Activism.” This year’s event will feature a lecture by University of Michigan professor Dr. Maria Cotera. Cotera will speak on the history of Chicana/Latina activism in Michigan and the Midwest.  The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion by activists, professors and researchers regarding Latina activism.

This event will take place on the College’s campus in Knight Auditorium at Valade Hall. The lecture and discussion will take place on Friday, March 15 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., with a reception immediately following. This event is sponsored by the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, Multicultural Programs and funded through the Adrian College DeMerritt Lectureship Fund
