ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College Art and Design Department announces open enrollment for the summer session of ARK (Art Rocks Kids). Classes for first through eighth graders will be held from 9:00 – Noon (Grades 1-4) and 1:00 – 4:00 (Grades 5-8) July 16-20, 2012. Taught by certified art teachers Annie Howard and Jackie Whitley, and assisted by Adrian College Art Education students, this session is themed Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
Students who attend will rev up their engines as they create art inspired by mode of transportation. Fun for boys and girls alike, instructors will ‘drive’ into the use of sculpture, painting, printing, jewelry, clay and spray-painting. Attendees will have a chance to spray paint a car with a young, local artist.
Classes will be held in the tent adjacent to Mahan Center for Art and Interior Design at Adrian College. The cost is $70 and includes all materials.
