ADRIAN, Mich. – Food, fall festivities, music and football, the second annual Barktoberfest features family-friendly entertainment for all ages. Beginning at 3 p.m. and concluding at 6:00 p.m., Barktoberfest will be held at the Adrian College Multi-sport Stadium grounds off Charles Street in Adrian, MI.
Headline entertainment is Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys of Michigan. Drawing influences from all genres; their country sound is a melting pot of musical styles. Complimented with raw and authentic vocals, the group is sure to be a hit with today’s country music fans. Featuring a collaboration of some of Michigan’s own talent, the group combines an appreciation of the classics with the energy of the latest hits. Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys have opened for such names as Brantley Gilbert, Colt Ford and David Allan Coe. Enjoy a Chili Dinner (with cornbread, dessert, beverage) for $6, Children 10 and under $3, or sweeten up your taste buds with a caramel apple or other fall treat. Catch up with friends at the Beer & Wine Tent (photo IDs required).
Registrations for new entries are still being accepted for the great Chili Cook-Off and Apple Pie Contest. Forms can be found online at www.adrian.edu/barktoberfest Family and friends can enjoy the homegrown pumpkin patch and children’s activities including carnival games, inflatables, pony rides, hay rides, mini-train, and of course Bruiser the AC Bulldog mascot. There is certain to be fun for the whole family.
Following the festivities, show your Bulldog Spirit as the Adrian College Bulldogs face Kalamazoo College on the football field. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with general admission $5, seniors over 60 and children under 10, $3.
A special invitation is extended to all Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement. Those providing professional I.D.’s will receive free a Chili Dinner and free admission to the game, with recognition being given during pre-game festivities.
