Senior Exhibition II: Through the Fog on Display

Adrian College art and design student work displayed March 31-April 13.

ADRIAN, Mich (March 25, 14) – The Adrian College

Department of Art and Design presents Senior Exhibition II “Through the Fog,” featuring

the work of Liz Herrick, DeAnna Guetschow, Alex Thompson, and Anna Kokmeyer. The works will be on display in the Valade Gallery, located in Shipman Library,110 S. Madison Street, Adrian, MI 49221. This show runs March 31 through April 13.

Exhibiting students will be displaying their work in

their respective media of ceramic sculpture, painting, stone sculpture and

photography. An artist reception will be held Sunday, April 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Liz Herrick’s work explores ancient religions from

around the world and the relationships between the myths through bringing characters to life in ceramic sculpture.

DeAnna Guetschow inspires thought and imagination

through paintings that capture a moment in a story, emphasizing the relationship between art and literature.

Alex Thompson’s stone sculptures focus on the

necessity of hope in daily lives and the challenge of being optimistic.

Anna Kokmeyer explores the lengths of fulfillment

in a political agenda, assessing the toll it takes on the children in society.

The Artists’ talks are scheduled for Thursday,

April 3 at noon, with critiques held Friday, April 4 from noon to 2:00 p.m.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m., Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and weekends by appointment.
