Biography
Dr. Carissa Massey earned her BA in art from Bethany College (cum laude). Dr. Massey also earned a master’s degree in art history from Marshall University and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Arts (art history and aesthetics) from Ohio University. Her recent publications include a review of They Say in Harlan County: An Oral History and “Appalachian Stereotypes: Cultural History, Gender, and Sexual Rhetoric”. In 2010, she was recognized as the Adrian College EXCELlent professor of the year.
