David Goldberg holds a B.A. from Elizabethtown College, an M.A. in Modern U.S. History from Villanova University, and a Ph.D. in U.S. and African American History from West Virginia University. He specializes in the history of civil rights and urban consumer economies in the Jim Crow North and is the author of The Retreats of Reconstruction: Race, Leisure, and the Politics of Segregation at the New Jersey Shore, 1865-1920 (Fordham University Press, 2016) and Industrial Segregation (Kendall Hunt Press, 2018).
