Biography
Juan Hector Pereira, Baritone, is a native from Santiago, Chile. He is a Doctoral Candidate in Voice/Opera at the University of Michigan, and will be completing his Doctoral Studies this coming spring. He joined the voice faculty at Adrian College in the fall of 2012 where he has been teaching private studio voice. Mr. Pereira is an avid performer, director, pianist and accompanist, with performances throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, Italy and Israel. Last fall, Mr. Pereira performed the title role in Michigan’s production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. He just returned from representing the University of Michigan by performing excerpts of Don Giovanni at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Mr. Pereira has performed in a number of Operatic and Musical Theatre productions, and always enjoys the chance to share his talents with those he loves. At the University of Michigan, Mr. Pereira has been assisting with the major University Operatic Productions, and teaching/assisting Opera Workshop for the graduate and undergraduate classes.
